Community Connector is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our Service. By using Community Connector, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in two ways:
Information you provide
When you create an account or update your profile, you may provide personal information including your name, email address, phone number, and approximate location (via a map pin). You are in full control of what you share — all profile fields are optional beyond your name and email address.
Information collected automatically
When you use the Service, we may automatically collect certain technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited. This information is used solely to operate and improve the Service and is not shared with third parties.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the Service, including displaying your profile to members of your organization
- Authenticate your identity and maintain account security
- Respond to your questions, requests, or support inquiries
- Send account-related communications such as password reset emails
- Improve and maintain the performance and reliability of the Service
We will not use your information to send marketing or promotional communications without your explicit consent.
3. How Your Information Is Shared
Your profile information — including your name, email, phone number, and map location — is visible only to other verified members of your organization. Members must have an account and must belong to the same organization to see your information.
We do not share, sell, or rent your personal information to any third parties.
We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal process, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Community Connector, our users, or the public.
4. Your Privacy Controls
You are in control of your own information. From your profile page, you can at any time:
- Update or correct your personal information
- Remove your pin from the community map
- Opt out of the member directory while keeping your account active
- Delete your membership from an organization entirely
To delete your account entirely, please contact us through mediocredesignsmn.com.
5. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse. Your password is never stored in plain text, and all data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
6. Children's Privacy
Community Connector is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
8. Contact
If you have questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled, please contact us through mediocredesignsmn.com.
